The 2024 Edition of Séries Mania Unveils Itself

From March 15th to 22nd, the Séries Mania festival returns to Lille and the Hauts-de-France region, promising a popular, professional, iconic, and committed event. The program includes series screenings, an exhibition, masterclasses, meetings, and debates.

For all series aficionados, from March 15th to 22nd, it’s in Hauts-de-France, the land of films and series, where you need to be for the seventh edition of Séries Mania. Once again, the program promises to be rich and exciting, bringing Lille and the Hauts-de-France region to life.

“In Hauts-de-France, we are ready to enjoy this new season!” announces François Decoster, Vice-President in charge of culture, heritage, regional languages, and international relations. “There is a Séries Mania spirit that characterizes its success. It is a festival that is both popular and professional, taking place on our screens and beyond, in Lille and the region, and is both national and international. We have something exceptional, irreplaceable, and unique here in the region, and together, we are proud to give this industry its rightful place,” he continues. Last year’s edition brought together no less than 85,000 visitors and nearly 4,000 professionals from 66 different countries.

An Opening Night at the Nouveau Siècle

As every year, the Hauts-de-France Region provides the Nouveau Siècle for series screenings, as well as for the opening and closing nights of the festival, which see many French and international stars in attendance.

The opening night will take place on Friday, March 15th, once again hosted by Daphné Bürki. And to kick off the festival in style, Séries Mania will premiere the first episode of the new Netflix series by the creators of “Game of Thrones,” “Three Body Problem,” a worldwide first!

Exclusive Screenings in Lille and the Region

Exclusive world premiere screenings will take place in Lille, at the UGC and the Nouveau Siècle, as well as in five other cities in the region: Dunkirk, Lens, Wallers-Arenberg, Tourcoing, and Aire-sur-la-Lys.

The Complete Program

A Meeting Place for Festival-Goers

For this new edition, the Festival Village by Crédit Mutuel returns to the Tripostal with a pop program! An immersive exhibition to discover the hidden jobs in series, parties, workshops, meetings, signings, public podcasts – as every year, it’s the gathering place for festival-goers!

High School Students on the Jury

For the second consecutive year, the Hauts-de-France Region and Séries Mania will host the Hauts-de-France High School Jury Prize. Like the juries of the International Competition, Panorama Competition, or Short Formats Competition, seven high school students from the region will immerse themselves in the festival, experiencing the conditions of a professional jury for the Comedy Competition.

Also a Professional Event

Séries Mania is also a professional event with the Series Mania Forum. For three days, from March 19th to 21st, nearly 4,000 industry professionals will gather at Lille Grand Palais. This meeting has become essential, and for the 2024 edition, it is expanding by 3,000m². This year, the international summit, “The Lille Dialogues,” will bring together, for a day, leading European political figures and top executives from the global audiovisual industry, for conferences focusing on the challenges of the emergence and use of generative artificial intelligence in the sector.

Every year, Séries Mania welcomes prestigious small screen stars. The festival has seen Uma Thurman, Freddie Highmore, Marcia Cross, Brian Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Tomohisa Yamashita, Laetitia Casta, and Panayotis Pascot, among others.
